Summer 2009: Please check back for updates regarding the impact of Phase I modernizations on DCPS summer school for Tyler students.

In past years, summer school operated at Tyler for K-5th graders Mon-Fri from 8:30am-12pm for a six week summer session. Lunch was served from 12-1pm.

The Spanish Immersion summer program (for Preschool through 2nd grade) ran for a *4* week summer session. The hours were  Mon-Fri from 8:30am to 1pm. Lunch was served from 12-1pm.

 

Winter Break Camps

Winter I.C.E. Camp at the Fort Dupont Ice Arena offers fitness, focus & fun for children ages 6–13 (1st – 8th) during winter break.  Campers experience up to 4 hours daily of ice & inline skating, plus Tai Chi, Yoga, Dance, Arts & Crafts, Sign Language and other enriching activities. ICE Campers must bring: Lunch (2 snacks provided by camp), Water bottle, cleaned daily, extra pair TALL clean socks daily,  and long pants/sleeves for ice skating.  Camp is from 9-3.($100 full day/$50 half day). Extended care available from 8-9am($25) and 3-6pm($25). (3779 Ely Place, SE) Camp Dates: Dec 21-24, 2009

Camp is from 9-5.(Full day-$150/wk/child) (Half day-$75/wk/child). Extended care is available from 8-9am($25) and 5-6pm($25). Fee includes lunch, ice skates, inline skates, safety equipment, snack, and art supplies. AM/PM Pick-up/Drop-off Service is available per child/wk from: Friendship Heights Metro($100) Union Station Metro($50) and Stadium-Armory Metro($25). DC Parks & Recreation offers a diverse array of camping opportunities for children ages 3- 17, including sports camps, aquatic camps, therapeutic recreation camps, and other day camps. DPR also offers Discovery Camps for children ages 6-13 and Little Explorers Camps for ages 3-5. Camp fees for a 2-week session are $100 for DC residents and $150 for non-residents. Camp is M-F, from 9-5. Extended care is available at many locations from 8-9am & 5-6pm($10 each for DC residents/$15 each for non-residents). DPR offers a reduced rate for qualifying District residents to ensure that summer camps are available to everyone, regardless of their ability to pay. Children of eligible families attend camps at a flat rate of $25 per child, per camp session.  Sign up to receive e-mail updates about DPR summer camp.
