The PTA is establishing an onsite Family Resource Center to provide an accessible and comfortable place for parents to meet and find useful resources. The Center will offer seminars, training programs, and materials to increase the involvement and active participation of parents and caregivers in their children’s academic and extracurricular Tyler experience. It will help create opportunities for parents to learn about child development, to share experiences with other parents, to brainstorm solutions for academic challenges or parenting issues, and to gain information about the myriad of services, activities, and programs available for caregivers and children in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
Parents can check out books and activity kits from the lending library, sign up for family-friendly workshops and seminars, and get free informational pamphlets and newsletters on topics ranging from preventing bullying, to credit repair, to nutrition and exercise.
This center was created with you in mind. Please share your suggestions and comments with us so that the programming and materials adequately reflect your needs and interests. A suggestion box will be located outside the Center and we encourage you to use it!
